May is ALS Awareness Month! It’s also when Dutch Bros Coffee comes together with customers to “Drink One for Dane” and support the fight against ALS. Co-founder Dane Boersma lost his battle with ALS in 2009. Friday, May 19 marks the 17th year Dutch Bros has worked to keep his legacy alive and held a giveback to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association and its efforts to find a cause and cure for ALS.
“Drink One for Dane Day is such an important part of Dutch Bros,” said Katie Hutchinson, vice president of philanthropy at Dutch Bros. “We’re so honored to have the opportunity to partner with MDA each year and make a huge difference in the fight to end ALS!”
For over 70 years, Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) has led the non-profit organization in ALS research, care, advocacy, educational and professional programming. MDA provides resources and support for ALS patients and their families, provides a network of clinics nationwide and funds research projects to find a cause and cure for ALS.
Your drink matters!
Join Dutch Bros in helping end ALS by visiting any Dutch Bros shop on Friday, May 19 and ordering your fave drink. The Dutch Bros Foundation will make a donation to MDA for every drink sold on Drink One for Dane.
“Our partnership extends far beyond just one day, it’s a community coming together in the fight against ALS year-round. ‘Drink One for Dane’ day is a platform to change and save lives, and a chance for us to celebrate and toast to the legacy of Dane Boersma,” said Erin Feliciano, vice president, corporate & foundation relationships at MDA. “Most of all, we’re giving hope to all families that ALS can be a livable disease. Muscular Dystrophy Association is grateful for your partnership and friendship as we continue our efforts to find treatments and cures together.”
Dutch Bros is grateful to MDA for all the work it does to empower the people it serves to live longer, more independent lives.
We hope to see you on Friday, May 19 as we work together to make a massive difference, one cup at a time!💙
