Dutch Bros Welcomes its First Bike-Thru and Celebrates with Fields for All

PORTLAND, Ore. (Nov. 22, 2016) – On Sunday, Nov. 27, Dutch Bros will welcome its newest location at 2057 W. Burnside in Portland. To celebrate, this new location will offer all medium drinks for $1 with proceeds benefitting Fields for All.

Fields for All is a local field building collaborative between Operation Pitch Invasion, the Portland Timbers and Thorns’ Stand Together community platform, and their partners. Fields For All builds youth soccer fields and futsal courts each year following a collective mission to provide local youth with safe and organized outlets for play. The fields have been transformative in area neighborhoods by providing ongoing programming to support structured play for local area youth and their families.

“We are pleased to welcome our partner Dutch Bros to the neighborhood and we are thrilled to partner with them to benefit such an important initiative as our Fields for All program,” said Mike Golub, president of business for the Timbers and Thorns FC.

This new Dutch Bros location is a first for the company, stepping outside the standard two drive-thru lane model. This location is, instead a completely new model: a Dutch Bros coffee house with a bike-thru lane. The bike-thru lane will enable us to better serve the cyclists of Portland. Portlanders, who go by bike, will not have to get off and lock up their bikes to get their morning coffee—shaving time off of their commute. This location will also have a full-service walk-in feature and patio, which will provide the community the opportunity to enjoy the Dutch Bros experience and service in a more intimate way.

“It’s been exciting to develop this bike-thru coffee house and bring it to Nob Hill,” said Kevin Murphy, Dutch Bros NW Portland owner. “I grew up spending time in coffee houses around this neighborhood and can’t wait to share this with our community.”

On Sunday, from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., Dutch Bros West Burnside will be serving all medium drinks for $1, including specialty coffee, smoothies, freezes, frosts, and Dutch Bros Blue Rebel™ energy drink. Funds raised on grand opening day will directly benefit Fields for All as they continue to build fields that encourage local youth to play in a safe and organized environment.

Dutch Bros West Burnside is definitely a site to see. Stop by and enjoy local Portland pastries while you sip your favorite Dutch Bros drink, or indulge in Dutch Bros’ handcrafted Cold Brew Coffee. Open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., Dutch Bros West Burnside is ready to serve.

“Having a coffee house in NW with such a unique design that truly represents Portland and our progressive mindset is incredibly rewarding,” said Kevin.
