Dutch Bros Sacramento raises $9,950 for local teen hit by car

March 7, 2018

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (March 7, 2018) – Dutch Bros Sacramento raised $9,950, Saturday, March 3 at their Manzanita Avenue location in Carmichael for Nicholas Webb, a 14 year-old local teen who was tragically hit by a car when he entered into the street to retrieve his skateboard in front of his home.

“We are keeping Nick Webb and his family in our thoughts daily and feel grateful for our community that rallied to help, said Nikol Grubbs, owner of Dutch Bros Sacramento. “Our amazing and generous customers made this donation possible, and we just want to help this sweet boy and his family in any way that we can.”

Nicholas is currently in the ICU at UC Davis Medical Center, where he is receiving supportive care and treatments for his injuries. He was placed in an induced coma, with a stint in his head, to help relieve pressure and swelling. The family estimates the length of his hospital stay to be approximately a month, possibly even longer.

Saturday, March 3, proceeds from every drink sold at the Sacramento Dutch Bros location on Manzanita Avenue in Carmichael were donated to help offset medical expenses for Nicholas Webb. Donation buckets available at all Sacramento locations allowed for the community to give even more.

His sister, Michaela Webb writes on the family’s official GoFundMe page, “He is a really good boy with the biggest heart, and he has a great support group around him consisting of his family and his friends, the people who love him the most.”
