PHOENIX, Ariz. (Dec. 8, 2016) – On Thursday, Dec. 1, all Dutch Bros locations in the greater Phoenix-area donated $24,144 to support 19 adopted Thrive families to help provide them with a holiday season full of positivity and joy.
“December 1st was a huge success,” said Teri Vogel, Thrive Program Director. “With the contagious enthusiasm and donations Dutch bros provided from the give back day, Thrive and Dutch Bros are now gearing up to make this ‘a Christmas to remember’ for 19 of our very special families. From decorations, a Christmas meal with all the fixings, to providing their Christmas wishes.”
“We couldn’t be happier with the huge response the community had towards the Thrive giveback day!” said Caleb Berkey, Dutch Bros West Valley owner. “We really hope another opportunity presents itself to work with Thrive in the future to help make the Christmas season even more memorable for more families.”
Thrive, a local nonprofit, provides services throughout the area to ensure families stay together by keeping children out of the foster care system. Thrive supports parents, through its Foster Care Prevention program, with much needed necessities to enable safe and nurturing household environments for both the child and parents.
“We are so thankful for Thrive and for the opportunity they presented us with to bless the families they work with locally!” said Josh Hayes, Dutch Bros East Valley Regional Manager. “They gave us the chance to play, a special, hands-on role in delivering a total holiday experience to each family.”
To raise funds, all 18 Dutch Bros locations in the greater Phoenix-area donated $1 from every drink sold on Dec. 1 These funds will help all locations, as well as the Dutch Bros warehouse provide gifts, necessitates and meals to their adopted families this Christmas. All funds will directly benefit these 19 adopted Thrive families as the two local franchisees, Jim Thompson and Caleb Berkey, and their employees purchase gifts and plan activities to create a positive and memorable Christmas for these children and their parents.
“We are able to use the funds raised on the first to meet their specific needs as a family and household!” said Josh. “We owe it all to our wonderful customer base and our staff for really making all of this possible!”
“We at Thrive are overwhelmed by the pure JOY and support from Dutch Bros. Arizona,” said Teri.
