FOREST GROVE, Ore. (Dec. 22, 2016) – On Friday, Dec. 16, Dutch Bros Forest Grove donated $1,700 to local, Gracie Corrigan, to help offset medical expenses and to support her family during the holidays.
Diagnosed with Retinoblastoma in May, Gracie’s right eye was removed after the doctors found over 10 tumors. This local three-year-old, known for her loving-spirit, is now faced with a new adventure as she prepares for her next chapter in life.
“It was unbelievable how this community came out to support Gracie and her family. We were surprised with the turn out as it reached over the boarder to Washington and people were coming from neighboring communities just at a chance to support Gracie and her family,” said Eric Hines, Dutch Bros Forest Grove marketing team. “We could not have asked for a better representation of what are community is willing to do for one if it’s precious members as well as the communities around us.”
On Friday, a day dubbed, “Eye Heart Gracie”, Dutch Bros Forest Grove donated $1 from every drink sold, as well as created stickers to commemorate the support received from the community. Funds raised will directly benefit Gracie and her family as they look to pay-off incurred medical expenses and enjoy the holidays together after this year of trials and tribulations.
Elly, Gracie’s mother said, “We are overwhelmed with the outpouring love and support; it is truly unbelievable. I feel blessed to live in this community. I can’t thank everyone enough!”
“Thank you to those who came out to be a part of this community for even just one day,” said Eric. “That one day, one choice and support has given us one more opportunity to keep this special family apart if it.”
