BROOKINGS, Ore. (Nov. 20, 2017) – On Friday, Nov. 24, the Brookings Dutch Bros located at 747 Chetco Ave., will donate $1 from each drink sold to Katelyn’s Cause, a local nonprofit that brings gifts to children receiving cancer treatment at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
In 2008, Katelyn Wallace passed away from synovial sarcoma at the age of 17. Her wish was to start a program that would bring smiles to cancer patients at Doernbecher. Katelyn’s parents, Chris and Molly Wallace, started Katelyn’s Cause soon after she passed away. To date they have raised over $100,000 and 100% of the proceeds go to purchasing gifts for children battling cancer. Not only does Katelyn’s Cause provide gifts for those children at Christmas, but they also supply gifts throughout the year, sometimes even on the day a child is diagnosed.
“We are so excited to be able to dedicate a day to Katelyn’s Cause. Chris and Molly Wallace have brought so many smiles to the children at Doernbechers in honor of their daughter,” said Tony Jantzer, owner of Dutch Bros Brookings. “We couldn’t think of a better way to show appreciation than through Katelyn’s Cause, which defines what this season of giving is all about.”
