Dutch Bros. Selects First Employee “ROCK STAR”
02-May-2011Dutch Bros. is proud to announce its first Employee Rock Star, a program in which the company bestows an outstanding employee with his/her own store. Kristen Nelson Ennis, 26, will unveil her first store in Moses Lake, Wash., in July.
“The amazing energy and passion of our employees is what makes Dutch Bros. so special,” said Dutch Bros. co-founder Travis Boersma. “We didn’t want money to be the deciding factor in pursuing a future with Dutch Bros., so we created the Rock Star Program in order to help our employees grow and thrive.” The program was created to reward employees who exemplify the Dutch Bros. culture and would like to be a franchise owner, but don’t have the funds required.
Ennis started her career at Dutch Bros. in 2003 in Woodland, Calif. and has worked at the Albany, Salem and Brookings locations, where she was mentored by franchise owners Sean Provost, Aaron Eastman, and Tony Jantzer. “When they called and told me that I had been selected, I was so excited. I definitely learned everything from Sean, Aaron and Tony, who go above and beyond when it comes to how they treat their employees. I look forward to showing the Moses Lake people the Dutch Luv!”
Congratulations, Kristen!

Owner Dan says they selected the cause due to a personal connection. “Our assistant manager Bryan and his wife had an infant son who passed away a few years ago, and Wings of Eagles helped pay for the funeral costs.”
