March 1, 2017

ELK GROVE, Calif. (March 1, 2017) – On Friday, March 3, Dutch Bros locations throughout the greater-Sacramento area will donate proceeds from the day to honor the life of fallen California Highway Patrol officer, Lucas Chellew.

Lucas Chellew, 31, lost his life in the line of duty. Chellew, who followed in his father’s CHP footsteps, was known for his dedication, selflessness and courage. He will be missed by many in the community. A husband, and father to two young children, funds raised on March 3 will support his family as they transition into this unforeseen chapter in their lives.

“CHP does so much to protect our community, we want to show our appreciation and gratitude for everything they do,” said Kyle Garrett, Dutch Bros Elk Grove owner. “Even though we know raising money to help his family in this tragic time will not heal any of their pain, we truly hope to ease the transition as much as we can.”

On Friday, Dutch Bros locations in Citrus Heights, Davis, Dixon, Elk Grove, Fair Oaks, Granite Bay, Roseville, Sacramento, and Woodland will honor the life, service and sacrifice Chellew made. Proceeds from the day’s sales will directly support his family in their time of need. Dutch Bros locations will also have on-site donation buckets for those waiting to contribute more. Donations can also be made to the family through the C.A.H.P. Credit Union.
